Hunter’s Bride is a musical film set during the Napoleonic Wars. Based on Carl Maria von Weber’s 1821 opera, Der Freischütz, it is widely considered to be the first important German Romantic opera.

Syquali Multimedia AG Zurich producers Peter Stüber and Jens Neubert brought together a world-class ensemble for the film. Opera singers who are renown for their uncompromising artistic ambitions form the high-profile cast: Juliane Banse, Olaf Bär, Franz Grundheber, Michael König, René Pape and Michael Volle.
Music for Hunter’s Bride was recorded in July 2009 at London’s famous Abbey Road Studios, featuring The London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Harding, and The Rundfunkchor Berlin, conducted by Simon Halsey.

This large-scale European project was shot on location around Dresden, Germany by director Jens Neuber and D.P. Harald Gunnar Paalgard. Currently in post-production, the film is set to premiere in 2010.
